During the Republic of China period, Guangzhou once produced Confucius-branded Xiangyunsha.
So, could there be any historical connection with Nansha?
During the Republic of China period:
1.Guangzhou had Panyu Xuegong (Confucius Temple), but no Xiangyunsha.
2.Shunde had Xiangyunsha, but no Confucius elements.
The only place that combined both Confucius elements and Xiangyunsha was
what is now Nansha District of Guangzhou (which originally belonged to Panyu County during the Republic of China period).
This is all speculation—feel free to share your thoughts and discuss!
