In response to the epidemic, another enterprise, Daan Gene Co., Ltd, under Sun Yat-sen University, quickly launched targeted research and development and announced the development of a novel coronavirus pneumonia nucleic acid detection kit on January 13. Daan became one of the first two manufacturers nationwide to develop and release such kits, and the first in Guangdong, obtaining relevant certificates on January 28. The kits are now being used widely at medical institutions of all levels.
When questioned about the accuracy of nucleic acid detection, Zhang Bin, deputy general manager of Daan Gene, told GRTradio:
"In general, because nucleic acid detection technology, which is what we refer to as fluorescent PCR technology, is very technical, the screening process requires the collection of samples, the processing of samples, and the addition of nucleic acid into testing machines. The entire process needs to be standardized to be effective. A problem at any stage would cause results to be less accurate”
当被问及核酸检测的准确性时，达安基因的副总经理张斌告诉GRTraadio：“因为核酸检测技术总的来说，也就是我们所说的荧光PCR技术，技术含量是非常高的，作为整个检验的过程，它要求样本的采集到样本的处理，加入到核酸的提取到上机，整个过程过程需要标准化才能有效。每一个环节出现的一些问题，都可能会造成检验结果不那么准确。”
Daan Gene opened its normally sealed-off Yunkang Lab to GRTradio reporters to display how nucleic acid testing works. Samples retrieved from hospitals are tested daily in what are referred to as "specimen pre-processing" and "specimen processing" rooms.

For safety, when the sorted samples are sent to the 'specimen processing room' on the second floor, they are transported by a special elevator. They are isolated from workers who move upstairs. After preliminary work is conducted, results can be obtained after 3.5 hours in the specimen processing room."
Staff at the laboratory are working on a two-shift basis to make sure the lab continues to operate 24 hours a day.
达安基因向GRTradio的记者们开放了他们通常封闭的云康实验室，向他们展示的核酸检测的工作原理。从医院获取的样本会在“标本前处理”和“标本处理”室进行日常检测。
为了安全起见，当分类样本被送到二楼的“标本处理室”时，会由专门的电梯运送，他们与搬上楼的工人隔绝。初步工作完成后，在标本处理室进行3.5小时后即可得出结果。
实验室的工作人员实行两班制，以确保实验室继续24小时工作。
