Billboard advertising is an effective medium for brand-building and supporting a campaign. But once the ad campaign runs its course, the billboard ad (made from durable PVC vinyl) is taken down and thrown away in a landfill.
But this time, we’re giving these billboard ads a second life!
To kick off RAD’s sustainable adventure, we started collecting billboard ads from all over the country. Then, we sort them out based on size and colors.
Different colors and shapes are identified from the billboard materials, and then cut and trim to create abstract designs resulting in one-of-a-kind products.
Mud, dirt and anything else that could scratch the billboard material is gently washed off with water and approved soap to ensure the PVC vinyl isn’t damaged. After thorough washing, we continue to rinse again and again until all dirt is removed.
A painstaking but necessary process is carried out to ensure that the billboard material is safe and durable before we transform them into RAD items!
Next week, we will share a sneak peek into the design process of RAD items. Stay tuned and follow us for updates.
