史夙飞教授在卡内基梅隆大学(CMU)物理系的实验室(https://sufei-shi.weebly.com/)招聘博士后研究员。研究领域为二维原子层材料器件和莫尔超晶格的光谱研究。

申请者应已经(或即将)在物理、应用物理、电子工程、机械工程、材料科学与工程,或者相关学科获得博士学位,并且渴望在学术方面继续提升与发展。申请人需要在试验手段方面具备充分的经验与娴熟的技巧;如果拥有光谱或者低维纳器件方面的背景则更佳(不是必须)。

该职位的首个聘期为12个月,根据表现及双方意愿可以延至36个月或者更长。

史夙飞教授是二维材料和光谱学领域的权威专家。他在卡内基梅隆大学的研究团队将结合输运、光谱学和扫描显微镜技术来研究莫尔超晶格。史教授的研究团队在Science、Nature Materials、Nature Nanotechnology、Nature Physics、Nature Communications、PRL、PRX、Nano Letters和ACS Nano等期刊上发表了研究成果。近几年来,史教授的团队在激子物理和莫尔超晶格的研究上成果颇多,以通讯作者的身份分别发表了 3篇Nature Physics、1 篇Nature Nanotechnology、8篇Nature Communications、1篇PRX、5篇Nano Letters、1篇ACS Nano和其他文章。团队目前毕业了3名博士和2名博士后,每个人都有(远)超过3篇著名期刊发表。

得益于精干的研究团队和深入的交流指导,史教授在培养博士后研究员方面颇为成功。团队目前一共培养了两名博士站出站。两人分别在2020和2023在国内著名985高校取得了教职。前两位博士后从没有二维材料和光谱的相关背景入门,很快成长为领域内的专家。第一位博士后以化工博士的背景在不到三年的时间内,以第一作者发表了3篇Nature Communications、1篇PRX、3篇Nano Letters和1篇ACS Nano。第二位博士后3年多一点的时间内,以第一作者(或共同第一作者)的身份发表了2篇Nature Physics和3篇Nature Communications。这两位博士后目前分别在上海交通大学和中科大担任教职。

Postdoctoral Research Associate Position on

Optical Spectroscopy of 2D Devices and Moiré Superlattices, Experimental

The Sufei Shi Research Group (https://sufei-shi.weebly.com/) in the Physics Department of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) is seeking a highly motivated and excellent candidate for Postdoctoral Research Associate for conducting cutting-edge experimental research on optical spectroscopy of 2D devices and moiré superlattices.

We are looking for ambitious, self-motivated, and self-disciplined young scholars with a Ph.D. degree (or in the process of obtaining one soon) who seek critical advancement and future excellence in their academic careers. We look for experienced experimentalists with degrees in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and related disciplines. Strong experimental technical skills are required. Previous experience with optical spectroscopy or 2D devices is desired but not required.

The initial appointment is for 12 months and can be extended to 36 months or even longer, based on performance and mutual agreement.

Prof. Sufei Shi is an established expert in the field of 2D materials and optical spectroscopy. His group at CMU will combine transport, optical spectroscopy, and scanning microscopy for the study of moiré superlattices. Shi group has published results in journals such as Science, Nature Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Physics, Nature Communications, PRL, PRX, Nano Letters, ACS Nano. Over the last few years, Shi’s group has published 3 Nature Physics papers, 1 Nature Nanotechnology paper, 8 Nature Communications papers, and 1 PRX paper, 5 Nano Letters, 1 ACS Nano, along with other papers, all with Prof. Shi being the corresponding author.

Benefiting from the small group size, Shi’s group has demonstrated success in training postdocs. The last two postdoc scholars both started with zero background but quickly become experts in the field. In roughly three years, both have each contributed significantly to the field, with one of them publishing 3 Nature Communications papers, 1 PRX paper, 3 Nano Letters papers. 1 ACS Nano paper, and the other one publishing 2 Nature Physics paper and 3 Nature Communications papers, all as first (equal-contributing) authors. Both postdocs have secured faculty positions (Shanghai Jiaotong University and the University of Science and Technology of China).
