美国纽约大学Haogang Cai课题组招收博士后,访问学生学者

(optical metasurfaces, nanofabrication, bioengineering)

The Cai lab in the Tech4Health Institute at New York University School of Medicine, is seeking candidates for postdoc positions in optical metasurfaces, nanofabrication, bioengineering and related fields. The lab aims to build new paradigms of nanotechnology for biological and biomedical applications, including tunable optical metasurfaces for bioimaging and biosensing, and nanoengineered materials for mechanobiology with dynamic single-molecule control.

Who we’re looking for

At the cutting edge of interdisciplinary research, Ph.D. graduates and visiting students/scholars from various backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with expertise and interests including but not limited to: optical metasurfaces (NIR, visible), nanophotonics, nanofabrication (hands-on cleanroom experience), soft materialsMEMS/NEMS, biosensing, mechanobiology and other biomedical applications. Experiences spanning multiple fields will be a plus. The candidates should be strongly motivated and open-minded, capable of both independent and collaborative research work. They should have a Ph.D. degree in engineering (electrical/mechanical/chemical/biomedical), materials science, physics, chemistry, or other related fields.

A strong background in optical metasurfaces or nanophotonic biosensing, rich experience in optical experiments, FDTD simulation, hands-on experience on high-resolution nanofabrication (e.g., e-beam lithography), soft materials (e.g., liquid crystalline polymer) are preferred. Demonstrated ingenuity, productivity, communication and writing skills with an excellent record of publications are preferred.

Interested individuals should send their curriculum vitae to Dr. Cai’s email: haogang.cai@nyu.edu. Please indicate the position you apply for in the subject, include a detailed descriptions of research interests, and a full list of publications in your CV. Learn more on current openings at https://www.cai-labs.com/opening.

Who we are

The Cai lab is in the Tech4Health Institute at New York University School of Medicine (NYUSOM, recently ranked # 4 in medical schools by U.S. News & World Report). Tech4Health Institute serves as a hub for the development of new enabling technologies that will advance basic biomedical discovery and clinical care, with close collaboration with biologists and doctors at NYUSOM, as well as scientists and engineers from worldwide institutions. Immersed in the unique vibrant and innovative environment of the New York City, and one of the foremost medical schools in the world, this is an ideal place for engineering researchers to design technologies to improve human health.

Prof. Haogang Cai received his B.S. from Xi’an Jiaotong University, and M.S. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, both in microelectronics. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in 2016. From 2016 to 2019, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Center for Nanoscale Materials at Argonne National Laboratory. He is the author and coauthor of one book chapter and more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Materials. For more information, visit the lab website at https://www.cai-labs.com/.
