苏州·中国声谷是常熟面向国家战略需求和产业未来发展方向打造的重大创新引擎，由常熟市人民政府联合南京大学、中国声学学会等多元主体共同打造，以常熟经开区为核心，建设13平方公里声谷国际创新生态走廊，打造“六大声学领域”技术研究中心，攻克转化一批产业共性关键技术，加快推动声学科技产业化。未来，“苏州·中国声谷”将打造成为长三角地区具有国际影响力的国家级现代化产业示范区。

规划建设声学创新区、声学应用人才培育区和声学制造业集聚区，其中，声学创新区规划面积13平方公里，以常浒河声学走廊为中轴，由生态带、声创园、人文城、时光湾、声都会五大功能区有机组成，全力打造天籁湾、海豚岛两大特色片区。

国际声学产业技术研究院由常熟政府与南京大学合作共建，2021年获评江苏省新型研发机构。 作为“苏州•中国声谷”的创新策源地，声研院以声学基础材料突破、关键核心器件研制、重大装备体系攻关为使命，引入高端研发人才团队，搭建公共研发和服务平台，助力优质科创成果转化，构建以前沿技术研究、关键和共性技术攻关、行业应用技术落地为核心的全链条创新体系，争创国家声学技术创新中心。
