Many of us may have been raised to let our hard work “speak for itself.” Unfortunately, when you’re applying for a promotion[升职], that may not be enough.
The truth is that there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be recognized[被认可] for your performance.
3 ways to remind your boss that you are "promotion-ready"!
01
Every business has inefficiencies [低效] and problems. You can show your leadership potential by taking the initiative to [主动地] solve them.
Look around the office for things that are impeding [阻碍] productivity, generating [产生] unnecessary costs, undermining workplace safety or preventing the company from achieving its goals. Then, create a plan to improve those areas.
02
As you move to higher positions, you will need to continually improve your leadership skills. Before that, whenever an opportunity arises, show your supervisor that you can lead and motivate [鼓励,推动] your team members.
03
Don’t be afraid to tell your manager that you want a promotion. They can help you develop core competencies You don’t have to demand a promotion directly. Instead, ask them what it will take to get one. This will put your boss in the position of a guide or a mentor [导师], and get them equally invested [投入] in your career success.
