这究竟是怎么一回事呢？
大家都知道，“thanks”的意思是“谢谢”；
但是，当翻译“Thanks but no thanks”时，如果直接翻译成“谢谢但又不谢”，显然是不通顺，且不合逻辑的。
实际上，这个表达，是一句常用来委婉拒绝他人时的礼貌用语，意思是“谢谢，但还是不用了”。

1.Thanks for nothing
这个表达的字面意思，是“没有什么可谢的”，但实际上，它却是一句反语。
先来看看它的英文释义：
used to show you are annoyed when someone has done something you are unhappy about or has failed to help you in some way.
用于表示当某人做了令您不满意的事情或未能以某种方式帮助您时，您很生气。
“Thanks for nothing”常用来表示“恼怒”，意为“得了，别瞎起劲，不用费心”。

“不用你费心。”她挖苦地说。
You've broken my pen—thanks for nothing, I could have done that for myself.
你把我的笔给弄坏了——你得了吧，就那我自己也会弄。
2.thanks to/for
二者都可以用来表示“多亏，由于”。
二者的区别：
在“thanks to”中，to是一个介词，后接名词或代词。
“thanks to”强调“由于……的帮助”，相当于“because
of…”或“with the help of”。
而在“thanks for”中，for后加动名词，人称加宾格。
“thanks for”表示“为...谢谢”，强调“谢谢”的原因。
这里，“thank for”还有一种用法：have sb to thank (for sth)，表示“多亏有了...的帮助,才让你做成某事”。
Thanks to a new directive, food labelling will be more specific.
由于官方的一项新指令，食品标签将会更明确具体。
Thanks to Bateman's heroics in the second half, the team won 2–0.

3.Many thanks
这个表达，字面意思是“很多的感谢”，引申过来就是“不胜感激，非常感谢”，是一个比较口语的说法。

4.give thanks
这个表达的字面意思是“给予感谢”，引申一下也就是“感恩，致谢，感谢”之意了。
