Job Description:
The company is seeking an experienced JavaScript engineer contractor to participate in the design and implementation of a JavaScript framework that supports alternative UI experiences to Photoshop’s current UI. You will join a small, experienced, cross-discipline team of researchers, JavaScript engineers, Photoshop C++ developers, and designers.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will have significant experience building large applications in JavaScript. You should have knowledge of best practices for writing correct concurrent code in JavaScript (e.g. the use of Promises) and should have experience writing modular JavaScript (e.g. with AMD modules or CommonJS packages). Experience with modern JavaScript workflow tools (e.g. npm, bower, JSHint, and unit testing frameworks) and git/github is strongly preferred.
Desired skills:
• 3+ years of JavaScript engineering experience, including experience with modern best practices (e.g. the use of AMD modules and Promises)
• Experience with CSS/HTML
• Experience shipping software with a large user base
• Facility with version control systems such as git/github and Perforce
• Knowledge of agile development practices
• Experience managing or contributing to open source projects is a plus
• Experience targeting multiple browser runtimes and Node.js is a plus
• Working knowledge of Photoshop (from an end-user perspective) is a plus
Location:
The majority of the team is located in San Jose, California and San Francisco, California. Preference will be given to candidates able to work in these locations.
