Large-scale machine learning for data analysis plays a critical role in various product lines such as advertising, search, Internet financial services, fraud detection, personalized recommendation and intelligent customer service, etc

We develop a Platform of Artificial Intelligence (PAI) to provide a unified solution to a variety of big data problems; For example, PAI includes parameter servers that enable super-large scale learning by both model and data parallelization; it learns complex models from billions of samples with billions of attributes; PAI also includes distributed deep learning systems over the cloud and GPU clusters that conduct complex recognition tasks.

Here are a few directions we endeavor: visual object detection, speech recognition, machine translation and text analysis.

- Familiar with Linux Kernel, OVS, Host Network Offloads, SR-IOV, TCP/IP and Virtualization (Hypervisors and Virtual Machine Switching)

- Familiar with network hardware - NICs, Switches and Routers

- Proficient in Network Virtualization (VXLAN), Load balancing, Driver and Kernel Development

- Familiar with Compilers and API Design, and QoS and Scheduling

- Solid understanding of performance, efficiency and strong customer focus

- Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers of engineering skill-sets

- Good at communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, product strategy and influence outcomes in technical decision-making

- Knowledge of major protocols, topology design, network hardware and device configuration

- Proven software development skills, preferred in Java, C/C++, Python and/or Perl in the Linux environment

- Strong computer science fundamentals in data-structures and algorithms

- Adept at problem solving and troubleshooting

- Experienced in Linux kernel or driver development

- Solid system design and development skills.

- Responsible for building cloud-scale storage services including Object Storage, Block Storage, File Storage, Big-data Analytic Storage, and Structured Table Storage

- Provide a highly durable and strong consistent underlying distributed storage infrastructure that many services are built upon.

- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

- Solid computer science fundamentals

- Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills.

- Responsible for the design and development of security system for cloud computing platform

- Responsible for the design and development of application security products and solutions for cloud computing

- Lead the team to accomplish complex projects.

- 3 years of software development experience, familiar with data structures and algorithms, proficient in C/C++ programming

- Experience with Linux / Unix operating system. Design and development experience of large-scale, high-performance system in Linux / Unix environments

- Good teamwork and leadership skills

- Good understanding of Java, Python or other scripting languages

- In-depth understanding of the current security trends, security threats, and various offense and defense technologies

- Technical expertise and hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: cloud computing security, wireless security and transaction security

- Being responsible for overall security system and product solutions on one security area for a large enterprise

- Experience in programming competitions in the area of security products, large-scale high-performance systems, and algorithms is preferred

- Mandarin proficiency required.

- Detect and locate the security deficiencies or holes in Alibaba’s current data products, fix and improve the security design

- Lead the design, evaluation and review of data security systems; tackle the key security problems in this field; technical support of other related security system issues

- Establish the security standard/regulations of Alibaba’s data products; help to drive Alibaba’s business units to implement such standard and regulations

- Auditing data security system in current products.

Basic qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in data security systems, especially in data protection, implementation of data security regulations and data sharing.

- A strong background in data security, comprehensive understanding of data security such as data storage, masking, transferring and authorization.

Preferred qualifications:

- Excellent communication, coordination, execution skills. Experience in managing large scale projects in relevant field a plus

- A history of managing the super large scale (Petabyte ~ Exabyte) data security systems. Experience in data sharing and data exchanging a plus

- A solid understanding of Google/Amazon’s data storage, management and security system a plus

- Outstanding creativity, an extraordinary passion of employing big-data thinking to tackle big-data obstacles.
