Job Description:
Java Software Engineer in Mountain View
As a tools developer for the Paco team in the Knowledge User Experience organization, you will be developing features in our Paco opensource platform used by our client's researchers to improve our products and used by external researchers to conduct behavior science experiments. We are looking for a software engineer who is strong in either Appengine Java or Android development. The work is collaborative, creative, and technical. It requires solid coding skills, the ability to learn quickly, work efficiently, and write maintainable, testable code.
For those with Appengine Java expertise, you must be comfortable in both server-side and client-side web development using Java, Google App Engine, AngularJs, Javascript, CSS, and HTML. For those with Android experience, you should have demonstrable experience building non-trivial Android applications.
Responsibilities:
Add features to our product for our quickly approaching deadline using Java and/or HTML, CSS, Javascript
Be self-motivated, work efficiently, manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or four years of relevant experience.
Expert understanding of Java
At least 1 year of experience with either Google App Engine, Javascript and HTML or with Android development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Appengine Java or Android strongly preferred.
Strong sense of web design and user experience fundamentals desirable
Ability to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external), strong problem solving skills, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership.
Proven track record of shipping software.
