The Marketing Operations team seeks a contract technical database SAS programmer with strong project manager skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate and support list processing and database marketing initiatives for the various TurboTax business initiatives. The Database Programmer /Project Manager (DPM) will process data from multiple sources and formats, match and join files, produce resulting campaign files, and perform the necessary QC.

Work closely with the marketing managers to evaluate the customer target audience criteria and apply their understanding of both direct marketing best practices and our available data to recommend the appropriate targeting and data strategy to meet the direct marketing campaign business needs.

• The DPPM must be able to clearly translate or communicate data and segmentation criteria to program on their own or to the Programming team and to perform data audits to ensure accuracy of the customer list generated.

• The DPPM will effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously against deadlines without sacrificing accuracy - this includes significant coordination with cross-functional teams (internal and external) to ensure deliverables are released and received as promised.

• Use campaign and fiscal-year data to make data-based, strategic recommendations on how to improve email marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

• Identify and implement process improvements that result in execution efficiencies, higher-impact segmentation strategies, stronger test plans and easier access to customer data.

• The ideal candidate must also have experience with SAS and SQL programming.

• Working knowledge of data structure in a relational database (tables, joins etc)

• 2+ experience in working with and understanding of SAS based and macro programming for complex datasets – required skill

• 2+ years' experience in working with SQL programming

• Advanced Excel knowledge

• Familiar with Email Platforms – Responsys a plus

• Understanding of database marketing and analytics experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to creatively solve complex problems

• Demonstrate ability in achieving high quality code and pay close attention to details

• Experience in B2C marketing and the support of initiatives throughout all phases campaign execution

• Knowledge of financial services market
