In power transmission, the quality of composite insulators is critical to grid safety and stability. Defective products can cause serious risks, including short circuits, equipment damage, and even blackouts, leading to huge economic losses and potential safety hazards.
Leveraging years of manufacturing expertise, TID POWER has implemented a comprehensive quality control system that covers every stage—from raw material sourcing to final delivery—ensuring consistent and reliable performance.
Raw Material Inspection
Superior products begin with superior materials. At TID POWER, quality assurance starts long before production. We enforce a strict “full-item testing, zero-tolerance” policy for all incoming raw materials, eliminating any possibility of substandard components entering the manufacturing process and laying a solid foundation for high-quality production.
FRP rods are tested for dye penetration, water diffusion, dimensional accuracy, and mechanical strength in compliance with IEC 61109.
End fittings undergo visual inspection, dimensional verification, zinc layer thickness measurement, and ball-and-socket go/no-go gauge testing.
Silicone rubber is validated for hardness, tensile strength,
tear strength, dielectric strength, and tracking resistance.
Every test result is meticulously documented for traceability. Materials that fail to meet specifications are rejected and returned to suppliers, ensuring that only qualified raw materials can enter the subsequent production process.
In-Process Monitoring
Crimping and vulcanization are the two most core processes in insulator manufacturing, directly determining product reliability. To ensure precision and consistency, TID POWER employs a dual-inspection approach: first-article inspection combined with patrol inspection throughout production.
During crimping, the first article is tested for assembly precision and tensile strength. Real-time monitoring of crimping process parameters and regular patrol inspections during production effectively prevent the FRP rod and fittings from being pulled off or broken.
In vulcanization, the first finished unit is inspected for shed appearance, bonding interface, and dimensions. Bonding tests confirm strong adhesion between the FRP rod and silicone rubber housing. Continuous patrol inspection during the production process.
Any non-conformance triggers our defect control procedure to stop faulty products from moving forward.
Final Product Testing
Before any composite insulator leaves our factory, it must pass a final, rigorous inspection. Each batch undergoes both sample tests and routine tests in accordance with international standards such as IEC 61109, leaving no room for quality risks.
Sample tests include dimensional verification, end fitting inspection, interface tightness check, specified mechanical load testing, and galvanizing validation.
Routine tests cover visual examination and mechanical routine test to confirm performance under standard operating conditions.
Only after successfully passing all inspection stages are products approved for packaging and shipment. This final checkpoint acts as an essential quality gate, ensuring that our customers receive insulators of consistently high standards.
