Enterprise Ireland was honored to facilitate a meeting in Shanghai on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, between our Irish client company, Solvotrin, and their Chinese partner, Nuance Pharmaceuticals. The occasion was made especially significant by the presence of the Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, who was present for the formal announcement and signing ceremony of their partnership agreement.

Representing Solvotrin were CEO Pat O’Flynn and COO Ronan McClafferty, who traveled from Ireland specifically for this event. Nuance Pharmaceuticals was represented by CEO Mark Lotter, along with VP, Commercial Excellence Eva Su.

Solvotrin's Active Iron receives recognition in prevalent magazines such as Elle China.

This ceremony marked the official launch of a new partnership between Solvotrin and Nuance Pharmaceuticals, facilitated by Enterprise Ireland. It also served as the official launch of Active Iron into the Chinese market, timed with this year’s Double 11 period.

此次仪式标志着由爱尔兰贸科局促成Solvotrin与Nuance Pharmaceuticals之间新合作伙伴关系的正式启动，同时也是Active Iron产品借本年度“双十一”之机，正式在中国市场发布的里程碑。

Solvotrin Therapeutics is a healthcare development company, headquartered in Douglas, Cork, that specializes in innovating and optimizing established therapies under patent protection. The company's research and development team, located at Trinity College Dublin, comprises a growing group dedicated to this mission.

A prime example of Solvotrin's innovative approach is Active Iron, a product developed specifically to address the common challenges of traditional oral iron supplements—such as gut irritation, often experienced by women. Active Iron works by minimizing these side effects while simultaneously maximizing iron absorption, effectively helping to combat fatigue. This innovation is critically important, given that an estimated 2.1 billion people worldwide suffer from inadequate iron levels, a significant proportion of whom are women.
