Ireland has been awarded as the Country of Honour of the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (2021 CIFTIS) that is to be held in Beijing from 2nd to 7th September 2021. CIFTIS is the world's largest comprehensive exhibition in the field of global trade in services, andone of China's three major exhibition platforms for the country's opening-up, the other two are the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) and the China International Import Expo (CIIE).CIFTIS 2021be held at the China National Convention Center. With the theme of “Enabling a Digital Future, Driving Development with Services”, CIFTIS 2021 will be jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce ofthe People’s Republic of China and the People’s government of Beijing Municipality. World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are its permanent supporting institutions.As a major platform for the service trade in the country, CIFTIS 2021 has six kinds of events, including global summits for trade inservices, forums and conferences, exhibitions, promotions and negotiations. The internationalization rate for this year's CIFTIS is expected to reach 30 percent. About 165 overseas and China-based institutions from 108 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the exhibition, both online andoffline. About 38 countries and five international organizations will have a presence at the comprehensive exhibition hall.Guest of Honour PavilionThe Guest of Honour Pavilion will cover an area of 240 square meters and will be located in the heart of the main venue of CIFTIS(China National Convention Centre) for 5 days. In view of the importance of the Guest of Honour status and the large size of the pavilion, Team Ireland's participation to 2021 CIFTIS will comprise 6 parts : Overall country image by Irish Embassy in China, Irish Technology and Solutions by Enterprise Ireland, Higher Education Services by Education in Ireland, Ireland’s Attraction for Investment by IDA, Tourism and Irish Culture by Tourism Ireland,Agri-food, EU Geographical Indication Products by Bord Bia. Enterprise Ireland is the Irish state agency responsible for supporting the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. Enterprise Ireland ishonored to join the National Pavilion of Ireland at the 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (2021 CIFTIS). Enterprise Ireland will demonstrate two excellent export services to partners in China, MedTech and Higher Education.Ireland’s uniquely collaborative ecosystem has given rise to one of the world’s most innovative, integrated and globalized MedTech hubs. University research, government-supported R&D centres and business collaboration are driving MedTech innovation in Ireland.
