Haikou Jiangdong New Area consists of an eastern ecological function region and a western industry-city integration area.

Jiangdong New Area is planned to cover 298 square kilometers, starting from Dongzhai Port in the east, crossing the Nandu River in the west, bordering the east coastline of Haikou in the north, and reaching the City Expressway Phase II and 212 Provincial Highway in the south.

Currently, there are 41 active projects in the Jiangdong New Area, with a total investment of 30.715 billion yuan. In 2019, investment reached 6.3 billion yuan.
