The California-Hainan High-Level Climate Dialogue was recently launched in Sacramento, the state capital of California in the USA.
近日，加州-海南气变领导力专项实践活动启动仪式在美国加利福尼亚州首府萨克拉门托举行。
Since the People’s Government of Hainan Province and the Government of California signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in August last year, the two sides have been engaged in continuous friendly discussions and exchanges of personnel. Bringing this event to fruition is just one of the practical actions taken in fulfilling the memorandum of understanding. It is the first time that a project has been undertaken to strengthen the understanding and practices of climate change, green finance, and investment for administrative personnel in government and high-level management personnel in banking on both sides.
据悉，自2023年8月中国海南省人民政府和美国加利福尼亚州政府签署合作谅解备忘录以来，双方友好交流不断，人员往来频密。本次专项实践活动就是落实合作谅解备忘录的务实行动之一，首次以项目的形式加强政府行政管理人员和银行高层管理人员对气候变化、绿色金融和投资领域的理解和实践。
The launch of the dialogue is expected to further bilateral cooperation and establish a solid foundation for deepening cooperation across various sectors, including climate change, green and low-carbon development, new energy vehicles, education and youth exchanges. Certain members of the Hainan government delegation and relevant managerial staff of the Bank of China’s North America branch who attended the event will spend ten days engaged in activities including theory acquisition, site visits, discussions, and exchanges.
本次加州-海南气变领导力专项实践活动的启动，有助于推进双方开展更多的互惠互利务实合作，并为下一步在应对气候变化、绿色低碳、新能源汽车以及教育、青少年交流交往等方面深化合作打下良好基础。参加本次专项实践活动的团员包括海南省生态环境厅等省政府部门、市县环保部门的相关负责人，以及中国银行北美分行相关负责人。他们将在美开展为期10天的理论学习、实地考察、研讨交流等形式多样、内容丰富的活动。
Around 60 people attended the launch, including Mr. Zhang Jianmin, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco, leaders from California’s State Environmental Protection Agency and State Transportation Agency, the UC Berkeley California-China Climate Institute, UC Davis China Center for Energy and Transportation, Bank of China, University of Hong Kong, and other institutions, as well as members of a delegation of the People’s Government of Hainan Province visiting the USA.
中国驻旧金山总领事张建敏，美国加利福尼亚州政府环境保护部、交通部主要负责人，加州大学中国气候研究院、加州大学中国交通研究中心、中国银行、香港大学等单位相关负责人，以及正在美国访问的海南省代表团全体成员、专项实践活动全体团员等约60人出席活动启动仪式。
