非凡十年看甘肃 | The Extraordinary Decade of Gansu

甘肃，作为华夏文明的重要发韧地之一，农耕文明的滥觞之地，流传着始祖伏羲、轩辕黄帝故事，绽放着敦煌的绝色惊艳，有傲然挺立的大漠雄关，流淌着千年的黄河根脉。

Gansu is both one of the cradles of Chinese civilization and origins of the farming civilization. It is also home to Fuxi, the legendary Chinese ancestor, and Xuanyuan Huangdi, the Yellow Emperor, who is revered as one of the common ancestors for all Chinese.Apart from Marvellous Dunhuang and great Jiayuanguan Pass, Gansu is also the golden part of the splendid Yellow River.

十年来，甘肃围绕建设文化旅游强省的目标，不断推送甘肃文旅建设驶入“快车道”。截至2021年，甘肃各景区接待国内外游客2.76亿人次，实现旅游综合收入1842亿元。

In the past decade, Gansu has targeted at the goal of a developed cultural tourism province, making its cultural tourism moves onto fast lane of development. In 2021, the number of tourists to Gansu reached 276 million, and the gross income of tourism in Gansu reached 184.2 billion yuan.

今天，敦煌莫高窟、七彩丹霞、天水麦积山已经成为耀眼于世界的甘肃名片，敦煌文化、丝路文化、黄河文化正以创新化、科技化、数字化的全新示人；丝绸之路（敦煌）国际文化博览会等节会已成为推动丝绸之路沿线国家文化交流互鉴、开放合作的桥梁纽带，展现丝绸之路沿线国家文化的重要窗口。

Today, Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Colorful Danxia in Zhangye and Maijishan Grottoes in Tianshui have become the charming brands of Gansu. The Dunhuang culture, the Silk Road culture and the Yellow River culture are being presented in an innovative, technological and digital way. Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo and other festivals have become a bridge to promote cultural exchanges, mutual learning, openness and cooperation among countries along the Silk Road, and an important window to showcase the cultures of countries along the Silk Road.

今天的甘肃，已然成为广受海内外喜爱的“网红”旅游地。未来，甘肃还将继续开垦文化旅游的沃土，让灿烂的甘肃文化旅游于世瞩目。

Today’s Gansu has become a popular tourist destination at home and abroad. In the future, Gansu will continue to develop cultural tourism, so that the splendid cultural tourism of Gansu will attract worldwide attention.

十年来，脱贫攻坚的阳光，照耀在中国的壮丽山河，照进了每一个贫困的角落，也照射出陇原大地的山乡巨变。甘肃打赢脱贫攻坚战，历史性地解决了绝对贫困问题，75个贫困县全部退出贫困县序列，552万建档立卡贫困人口全部脱贫。

In the past decade, the light of poverty alleviation shines over the land of China, sliding through every window of poor households and also resulting in great changes on Gansu.The victory of the fight against poverty in Gansu has eradicated extreme poverty: 75 impoverished counties and 5.52 million poverty-stricken population were all removed from poverty.

无数个小小村落实现蝶变，群众的收入提高了，乡村产业持续发展，入学就医更加方便，住房饮水更加安全，交通通讯更加便捷，人居环境得到极大改善。跃上新起点，甘肃趁势而上，正一步步将农业发展高效高质、乡村建设宜居宜业、农民生活富裕富足的美好愿景变成现实图景。

Tremendous changes can be seen in countless villages and living environment has been improved greatly:  higher income, developing rural businesses, better access to education and medication, safer housing and water source, more convenient transportation. With a new starting point, Gansu, sticking with such a main trend, is on its way to achieve the vision of developing high-quality agriculture efficiently, constructing villages to be better places for living and for businesses, and making a rich and satisfied life in  countrysides.

Gansu is such an amazing Province. Though located in the hinterland, Gansu boasts all the natural landforms except ocean. Here you can see oases, snow peaks, glaciers, forests, grasslands, Gobi deserts and so forth.

十年来，甘肃切实加强生态保护，积极践行黄河流域生态保护和高质量发展的战略，西部生态安全屏障不断筑牢。

Over the past decade, Gansu has effectively strengthened ecological protection and actively implemented the strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. Thus the ecological security barrier in the western regions of China has been continuously developed.

九曲黄河活力焕发。在秘境甘南，黄河清澈静谧如银色绸带，滋养着一方丰茂草原湿地。入境临夏，壮阔奔腾，转化绿电源源不断地向外输送。

The Yellow River is full of vitality. It is as clear and quiet as a silver ribbon, nourishing the lush grassland and wetland in the fairyland of Gannan. As the Yellow River flows on in Linxia, it fuels the hydro-electric power plant with its majestic and great momentum. 

在大美祁连，随着生态环境持续得到优化，生物多样性逐渐丰富，越来越多的野生动物开始在这片乐土上繁衍生活，成为河西走廊的“常客”。

With the optimization of ecological environment, the biodiversity of the Great Qilian Mountains is increasing gradually. More and more wild animals are beginning to live and multiply in this paradise, becoming “regulars” in the Hexi Corridor. 

空气质量改善取得卓越成效，“甘肃蓝”变“常态蓝”，市民能够“推门见绿，推窗见蓝”。

Considerable progress has been made in improving the air quality, and “Gansu blue” turns into “normal blue”. Citizens are able to “Push the door to see the green, push the window to see the blue”

八步沙林场“六老汉”三代人治沙造林，41年如一日，创造了生态治理的进程中里程碑。今天，从卫星地图上俯瞰，这里已然成为一片生机勃勃的绿洲。

Three generations of the “Six Old Men” have fought against desertification in Babusha Forest Farm day by day for 41 years, creating a milestone in the process of ecological governance. Today, we can see from satellite maps that this region has become a vibrant oasis.

今天，“绿水青山就是金山银山”已成为陇原儿女的普遍共识；未来，甘肃将继续坚定不移走生态优先、绿色发展之路，推动形成人与自然和谐发展的现代化建设新格局。

Today, the idea that “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” has become the general consensus of Gansu prople. In the future, Gansu will continue to unswervingly adhere to ecological priority and green development, and promote the formation of a new pattern of modernization with harmonious development between man and nature.
