Asteroid No. 381323! Named ''Fan Jinshi Star ''
为褒扬敦煌研究院名誉院长樊锦诗先生为中国石窟考古与保护作出的杰出贡献，国际天文学联合会（IAU）小行星命名委员会批准将编号为381323号的小行星正式命名为“樊锦诗星”。
In recognition of the outstanding contribution made by Fan Jinshi, director emeritus of the Dunhuang Academy, to the archaeology and conservation of Chinese grottoes, the International Astronomical Union's Working Group Small Bodies Nomenclature approved the official naming of the asteroid No. 381323 as ''Fan Jinshi Star ''.
近日，“樊锦诗星”命名仪式在敦煌莫高窟举行。
Recently, the naming event of ''Fan Jinshi Star'' was held in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.
在仪式上，樊锦诗先生向敦煌研究院捐赠1000万元人民币，并在中国敦煌石窟保护研究基金会设立“樊锦诗基金”，用于敦煌研究院世界文化遗产保护典范和敦煌学研究高地建设。
At the ceremony, Fan Jinshi donated 10 million yuan to the Dunhuang Academy and established the ''Fan Jinshi Foundation'' at the China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation of China for the construction of World Cultural Heritage Protection and the Research of Dunhuang Studies of the Dunhuang Academy.
从此，广袤无垠的宇宙星空中又多了一颗以中国科学家命名的小行星——“樊锦诗星”。
Since then, there has been another asteroid named after a Chinese scientist in the vast expanse of the universe - “Fan Jinshi Star”.
