韦嘉的画面是飘逸的、放松的、灵动的，但同时也是有力量的，这种力量感不是依托于画面的结构和线条而构建，而是一种隐匿的精神，或者说是画家赋予其上的生命力。孤独、寂寞、忧郁……
Wei Jia's paintings are elegant, relaxed, and vivid, but also powerful. This sense of power is not built on the structure and lines of the painting, but rather an underlying spirit, or the vitality that the artist has bestowed upon it. Solitude, loneliness, melancholy...

韦嘉
Wei Jia
1975年出生于四川成都，1999年毕业于北京中央美术学院版画系。目前任教于四川美院版画系并生活于重庆。在中央美院求学期间即在版画领域获得许多重要奖项。2003-2004年转以丙烯颜料创作为主，以类似版画的构图结构组成画面。作为中国当代“70后”画家的代表，韦嘉早期创作将少年敏感又不羁的情怀，以叙事的语言铺陈开来。2010年后，韦嘉逐渐将视野拓及独特或普世的人性，以及人与社会群体间的状态。韦嘉的作品描绘了生命本质的面貌，动态的笔触介于具象及抽象之间，既定的轮廓消减，进一步的反应当代人在其所属的现实环境中，既永恒也变幻万千的种种生命状态。
Wei Jia was born in Chengdu, Sichuan in 1975 and graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1999.Currently, he teaches at the Printmaking Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and lives in Chongqing.During his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, he won many important awards in the field of printmaking.From 2003 to 2004, he shifted to the creation of acrylic paints, using a compositional structure similar to that of prints.As a representative of the post-1970s generation of Chinese contemporary artists, Wei Jia's early creations depicted the sensitive and unrestrained feelings of teenagers in narrative language.After 2010, Wei Jia gradually expanded his vision to unique or universal human nature, as well as the state between people and social groups.Wei Jia's works depict the essence of life, with dynamic brushstrokes between abstraction and representation, and the elimination of established outlines, further reflecting the various life states of contemporary people in their own reality, which are both eternal and ever-changing.
