Fairy Tales
This month all our foreign teachers decided to share their favorite childhood stories with their class. We at KIK were so lucky to have so many bilingual parents who were willing to take the time to help us and also share their own stories with the children. It was a great feeling to promote the fun of reading to our kids at KIK. We hope more parents will take the time to join us for the future events in the upcoming year.
Check and read what our foreign teachers say about the "Story Time".

By Ronnie:
I was so happy that Seven’s mommy came to share a story with all the kids. She also helped me with my book by translating my story. I picked this book (Good Family Don’t) because I remembered it from my childhood. I remember how much fun it was to see the character called Fart do so many bad things. I had so much fun with Seven’s mother reading the story to the kids. The boys and girls would jump out of their chairs, make funny faces and make silly comments about the character called Fart. It’s great to see the kids having such a great time. The best part the kids learnt a valuable lesson from each story. Seven’s Mommy the story of “Mulin” taught us that girls can do anything a man can do. My story taught the kids that everybody makes mistakes. No matter how big or small a mistake maybe we can all learn from our mistakes to help make things better.

By Maria:
I chose the classic children’s fairy tale (Goldilocks and the three bears.) A tale that teaches the value of respecting others and their property, as well as self-control. Some kids enjoyed playing the roles of Goldilocks, papa bear, mama bear, and baby bear as if they were really in the story. The rest of them remain glued in their seats, eagerly anticipating for what’s going to happen next. After that, we had the pleasure of having Alex’s mom read to us the popular children’s book: Dear Zoo. The kids were all excited to lift the flap to see the mystery animal hidden behind it. The animals on each page came out to life, as the kids excitedly acted them out. Everybody had so much fun!

By Dan:
I chose to read the story, Billy Goats Gruff. I loved this tale as a child because my mother would read it to me and make voices for the characters. The moral of the story is to not be greedy, you should be happy with the first thing and not try to get the biggest things.
In my D1 Class, Jerry’s mother read a story about the Chinese zodiac animals. It was a lovely story that showed how the different zodiacs behave. I really liked the artwork.

By Daniele:
I chose the famous story of Pinocchio.
I love this one because it is a part of my culture, written by the Italian author Carlo Collodi, therefore was a huge part of my education.
The story moral is very clear. It is important to teach kids that in order to grow up to be a good boy or good girl they should be honest and brave and give back the love they receive.
Thanks, to Geena’s daddy for translation and telling us a traditional Chinese story!

By Emma:
For the children’s fairytale story I decided to read the children the tale of the Gingerbread Man. The fairytale is a unique story that I enjoyed listening to as a child. The moral of the story is about possession and teaches children about the importance of honesty. The children enjoyed listening to the story and were able to recognize a large amount of the English vocabulary such as the farmyard animals. Bella’s mother kindly came in to translate the story and read her own story involving monkeys. Everyone listened carefully and were keen to involve themselves
