“五谷里的田苗子唯有高粱高，一十三省的女儿呀唯有那个兰花花好。”美丽的山村姑娘兰花花，像陕北高原上盛开的兰花。她与勤劳朴实的小伙子杨五娃有青梅竹马之缘，他们真诚地相爱着，他们的故事传唱在西北人的心中。
这是舞剧《兰花花》讲述的动人故事。这部舞剧自去年7月在保利剧院与北京观众首次见面后，在全国各地惊艳亮相。全剧讲述了在陕北高原群山深处的村庄里，兰花花与杨五娃相互爱恋，情深意笃，但因双方家境贫寒而难以结合。在一次新春社火上，兰花花被大地主周老财看上，随后，周家地主婆用重金厚礼为周老财的儿子强娶了兰花花，试图以婚礼之喜来为自己病入膏肓的儿子冲喜。被捺入花轿抢抬到地主家的兰花花拼死反抗，冲散了婚礼，准备与暗地里约好的五娃私奔。不料中了地主婆的奸计，五娃误食了毒馍……高原在凄风中战栗，兰花花在苦雨里哭泣。悲痛欲绝的兰花花断然吃下剩余的毒馍。在生命的最后时刻，他们在山野里举行了婚礼，以死向黑暗的人间做最后的抗争。
剧中，一曲曲苍凉高亢的信天游，一声声奔腾豪迈的安塞腰鼓，一步步潇洒悦动的陕北秧歌……八百里秦川的凄凉曲，似乎永远也唱不完。《兰花花》里那熟悉而感人的信天游正是这部舞剧的音乐灵魂之所在，而剧中鲜活的人物形象，蓬勃的艺术情感张力，更是将“兰花花”这位西北人的“维纳斯”和她的动人故事演绎得扣人心弦。
《兰花花》是中国东方歌舞团艺术史上第一部中国舞剧，对于东方歌舞团来说，回溯从建团至今的艺术历程，《兰花花》不同于以往制作的大型歌舞晚会、音乐会等，是第一部真正意义上的独立舞剧作品。这一新的突破，不仅填补了东方歌舞团艺术发展史的空白，更拓宽了团队的艺术创作视野，同时也为舞团的艺术家们开启了一个新的舞蹈领域的跨界——从原来的中国舞、亚非拉及国外舞种切换到陕北人民淳朴、劳作的生命舞步，这是一种放下，更是一种回归。
剧中表现兰花花和杨五娃爱情的双人舞的乐段，采用小提琴和大提琴演绎，其旋律如泣如诉，真情动人堪比《梁祝》。据担任《兰花花》作曲的孟可介绍，这次演出无论从结构方式还是整体呈现，都比以往上了一个台阶，在保留了原汁原味的陕北风味的同时，进行了更加写意、含蓄的处理，让这部舞剧更具文艺气质，更有“国际范儿”。
剧情简介 Introduction：

美丽的兰花花与英俊的杨五娃相互爱恋，情深意笃，但因家境贫寒而难以结合。在迎春社火上，兰花花被周老财看中，欲让其嫁给自己尚未成年的幼子做儿媳。在媒婆的花言巧语和丰厚财礼的诱惑下，兰父居然也答应了这残忍而又荒唐的婚事。在成亲拜堂的酒宴上，满腔悲愤的杨五娃与周老财暴发激烈冲突，混乱中，周竟失手打死了自己的爱子。死后缔结‘囍’冥婚‘囍’的愚昧习俗，令发了疯的周老财愈发丧心病狂，由此上演了一场更为惊世骇俗的人间悲剧……
Though beautiful Lan Huahua and handsome Yang Wuwa love each other deeply, they could not be together due to their poverty. At the Spring Festival fair, Zhou Laocai, a rich landlord, saw Lan Huahua and started to think of taking her as the daughter-in-law for his teenage son. Lured by the matchmaker’s sweet words and the promise of a generous bride price, Lan Huahua’s father actually agreed on this cruel and absurd marriage. However, at the wedding banquet, Zhou Laocai killed his loving son by accident in a chaos when he fought with grievous Yang Wuwa.
陕甘边区工农民主政府的建立，砸碎了数千年来的封建枷锁，黄土地上从此响起了妇女解放的嘹亮号角，千万朵“兰花花”终于昂首怒放在这片古老的土地上……
The establishment of the democratic government of workers and peasants in the border area of Shaanxi and Gansu provinces had smashed the feudal shackles that had lasted for thousands of years, blowing the horn of emancipation of women on this yellow land. Since then, tens of millions of “Lan Huahua” had followed suit and emerged on this ancient land.
序 Prelude
孑然一身的老年杨五娃，在无意中翻出一块印滿岁月风尘的红盖头，他赌物思人，浮想联翩，在绵延不尽的哀思中，再次回忆起那些铭心刻骨的经历，和那段撕心裂肺的恋情……
Elderly Yang Wuwa, living all alone all by himself, found an old red wedding scarf that was full of memory, recalling in sorrow that undying memory of his heart-breaking romance.

天上的星星配对对，人人都有个干妹妹；
骑上那骆驼峰头头高，人里头就属上咱二人好…

第一场：相 恋 Act I: Fall in love
欢腾热闹的迎春社火，给贫困乡民们带来短暂的欢乐，热恋中的兰花花和杨五娃，也在这平民的节日里尽情享受着令人称羡的爱情。然而爱子心切的周老财那看似偶然和随意的一瞥，却由此改变了剧中人物各自的命运，也由此将自己的幼子送上了一条不归之路……
Spring Festival fair always brought transitory happiness to these villagers as to escape their poor life. As Lan Huahua and Yang Wuwa were deeply in love, they also enjoyed themselves at this civilian festival. However, a random glance from Zhou Laocai had changed the fates of all characters which also sent his teenage loving son to a road of no return.

第二场：美 梦 Act II: A Sweet Dream
兰花花与杨五娃的爱情注定只能是一场美梦，当他们从梦境中醒来后，现实中的一切，仍将化为一声声无奈的叹息，和一阵阵彻骨的疼痛。兰父给女儿的一跪，仿佛大山一般碾压了真诚而又脆弱的爱情，在那个封建专制的黑暗年代里，权势财富与愚昧的旧习俗，总能一次又一次的扭曲和毁灭人之本性……
Love between Lan Huahua and Yang Wuwa were bound to be only a sweet dream, and when they woke up, they were stricken by the cruel reality, being left with a helpless sigh and an indelible scar in the heart. When Lan Huahua’s father knelt to his daughter to plead her to accept the marriage, it just crashed the innocent and fragile love between the two young people. During that feudal and dark time, human nature was always distorted and destructed by wealth, power and foolish old custom...

第三场：闹 婚 Act III: Chaos at the Wedding
兰花花被强逼与周老财的幼子拜堂成亲，残忍的旧习俗，却依然改变不了饥饿的村民对大鱼大肉的渴望。可怜一对恩爱的鸳鸯，被生生拆散，而周家小少爷的横遭毙命，也只能说是天命难违，造化弄人。宁死不屈的杨五娃惨遭毒打，痛不欲生的兰花花，听着那一声声鞭挞，心中宛如刀割……
Lan Huahua was forced to marry to the teenage son of Zhou Laocai. However, the cruel old custom could not reduced a bit the hungry villagers’ appetite for meat and fish at the wedding. The wedding ended up with the brutal separation of two loving young people and the death of the landlord’s little son. What a joke of destiny! When Yang Wuwa was brutally beaten up, Lan Huahua heard the whips and was almost killed by the pain in her heart...

第四场：绝 恋 Act IV: The peak of poetic perfection
周老财欲毒死兰花花为儿陪葬，他在馍馍里掺入剧毒，欲支使家丁哄骗兰花花吃下。兰花花奋力绝食反抗，又因被捆绑殴打而昏昏沉沉。媒婆内心受到强烈谴责，意识到自己罪孽深重，她悄悄潜入周府灵堂，救出了奄奄一息的兰花花和杨五娃。慌乱中，兰花花却误将毒馍装入怀中，充作了逃亡的干粮。
As Zhou Laocai planned to poison Lan Huahua and buried her with his son, he put poison into the steamed breads and told his servant to lure Lan Huahua into eating. Lan Huahua, with no other way to fight her fate but to refuse to eat anything, was almost faint because of the binding and beating. The matchmaker, feeling strongly guilty and being aware of her sin, crept into the mourning hall and rescued dying Lan Huahua and Yang Wuwa. In panic, Lan Huahua mistakenly took the poisonous steamed breads as the food on the escape.
兰花花与杨五娃终于逃离虎口，他们一路颠簸跑到黄河岸边。你推我让后，兰误食毒馍而亡，杨悲痛欲绝，给恋人披戴上红盖头，搂着她的遗体与自己对拜成亲，日月为之动容，天地为之震撼……
In the end, Lan Huahua and Yang Wuwa were able to escape from Zhou Laocai’s control and stumbled all their way to the riverside of the Yellow River. However, Lan Huahua ate the poisonous steamed bread and died. Feeling so devastated, Yang put the red wedding scarf on her beloved girl, hugged her body and completed the wedding ceremony. At that scene, even the heavens and earth wept for this tragic couple...
尾 声 End
年迈的杨五娃手捧剪纸，心潮激荡。当所有的疾风骤雨已成过往，留下来的只有美丽。兰花花凋零在黑暗的冬天，却永远怒放在人民的心间，千万朵兰花花正满山遍野，铺天盖地，绽放出一个无比绚烂的春天……
Gazing at the paper cut, elderly Yang Wuwa is lost in a swell of emotions. With all the misery and pain fading away, Yang could only see how beautiful everything is. Even though Lan Huahua died in that dark winter, her spirit shall never be obliterated from people’s hearts. Ever since her, tens of millions of Chinese women have bravely stood up for their freedom and fought against feudalism all across the country, creating a new world full of hope like the blooming spring...
