创作思想源流

——严梦阳

本人艺术创作的核心主题是大地。

大地一词带有故土、生息、坚实等品质和哲学内涵，人类千年的劳作对脚下的土地有着朴素的认知，并赋予其家园的意蕴。现代社会以降，随着人类的科技进步和工具理性的拓展，大地自身所带有的归属感和神圣性被解构，大地逐步沦为生存论意义上的“荒原”。因此海德格尔在晚年提出了构建“天、地、人、神”的思想框架，要求我们重返原初的思，寻找人类的诗意家园，驱散虚无主义的迷雾。

正是基于这种生存论意义上的思考，本人的创作中普遍会以地平线、荒野等视觉因素探寻大地图像背后的内涵，并通过硬性造型方式塑造对象，突出画面的精神指向性，表达形而上的诉求。在技巧层面，我强调绘画肌理的流淌性，通过控制，使作品产生自然而然的生成感。在材料方面则选用手工亚麻布，运用丙烯、立德粉、石膏粉、霞石胶等材料塑造肌理，再根据具体的内容运用综合材料（岩彩、砂石、金箔、丝线、金属、油彩等）丰富画面效果。

本人作品的意义主要有两个方面。其一是生存论价值，因为土地承载万物的属性会激发人们对生存维度的思考，进而重新审视自身的位置。一件好的艺术品并不是建立一个说教体系，而是激发每一位观者内心深处的沉思，从而点亮属于每个人自身的意义明灯。其二是神秘、瑰丽的超验美学：作品力图反映人类的本质力量与伟大景观处于尖锐对立与严峻冲突时，主客体之间所呈现出的冲突美。这是神秘大地为人们带来的超验视觉景象，它会拨动人们亢奋的神经，激发出高峰体验，使人们从鬼斧神工的大地景观中感到自然与视觉之美的合奏。

总之，我的作品力图体现大地作为灵性活动环境的重要价值，使人们立足在自然中如同在寺庙里，发现生活的含义与安宁，感觉到万物之间的完整与和谐。大地像纽带一样把人们带入一个曾经被文明破碎化了的统一体中，人们在与自然界的互动中展示出超拔于个体的敬意，其结果就是深远扩散的和平之境。

Thoughts for Creation

The core theme of my artistic creation is the Land.

The word Land entails philosophical ideas, such as homeland, survival, and solidness, etc. History sees human being’s growing understanding of the Land by their labor and interaction with it. Correspondingly, the Land is cultivated into mankind’s homeland. However, the fast-growing modern technology and widespread of instrumental rationality deconstruct the sense of belonging and solemnness of the Land. In fact, the Land is deteriorated into a Wasteland only for survival. Facing with it, Heidegger, in his later years, proposed the ideological framework of building "the Heaven, the Earth, the People, and the God", urging us to return to the original thinking, in order to find the poetic home of mankind, and dispel the fog of nihilism.

Based on such a thought of Existentialism, I often take the visual factors such as the horizon and wilderness to explore the connotation behind the image of the Land, and shape the object through hard modeling, highlighting the spiritual orientation of the picture, and expressing the metaphysical meaning. At the skill level, I emphasize the drooling of the texture in the painting, and present a natural sense through my intentional pause. In terms of materials, the hand-made linen is adopted, and acryl, lithopone, gypsum powder, nepheline rubber and other materials are used to shape the texture, as well as the comprehensive materials, including the rock color, sandstone, gold foil, silk thread, metal, and oil paint are applied to enrich the effects.

My works mainly cover two aspects. The first one is the value of Existentialism, which draws people’s attention in surviving and living from the image of Land, as well as his/her own position in the Land. A great piece of artwork does not try to preach the audience, but provoke thoughts and ignite the light of everyone’s life. The second refers to the mysterious and magnificent aesthetics of transcendentalism, that is, the beauty in the tension between the subject and object, in the context of the severe conflict between the essential power of human beings and the great landscape. This is a transcendental visual scene brought by the mysterious Land. It stirs people's nerves, bringing them to enjoy the peak experience, and the symphony of the natural and visual beauty in the mysterious landscape.

In short, my works aim to highlight the Land as a symbolic temple for spiritual activity, leaving people the meaning and tranquility in life as well as the integrity and harmony in everything. Subsequently, the Land, as a bond, reunites people into a complete being once fragmented by civilizations. The interaction between human beings and the nature transcends each individual. Such a tribute to the nature finally leads us to a far-reaching peaceful state.
