旅澳藝術家周于棟【非相無極】個展

牽扯流轉的周氏當代水墨與道家思想的結合 

台北「罐子茶書館」將舉辦藝術家周于棟最新個展【非相無極】，這是繼2012年【論太極】書法展後，「罐子茶書館」再次為周于棟舉辦的個展。此展是由cans@project策劃，劉悅為策展人。

此次展覽將展出藝術家創作於2016至2017年的最新彩墨作品，以多幅聯屏方式呈現。這次彩墨聯屏作品是周于棟一貫創作內涵和心靈深處的感知，及對中國水墨當代信念並密切結合古代道家的思想牽扯流轉，這樣的藝術價值觀不是西方現代藝術可以蔽蓋的。

周于棟創作還來自太極內家功夫的修習及對道禪情境的領會，其一生總在曠達生活中印證生命觀與宇宙觀，自然促使他創作藝術形態的發生；這不是為推翻傳統形式而另立的一個形式，反而是深入老莊思想後，當代語言放逸的演示。這種放逸演示，可說是周氏水墨創作獨特之處，更是其生命體驗及老莊道家思想的當代藝術印證。

非相無極

CANS Tea & Books House - Taipei is pleased to announce the opening of Earthstone Chu’s solo exhibition “Without Appearances And Boundary”. The exhibition is organized by CANS @project and curated by Joyce Liu. This is Chu’s second solo show with CANS @project following the exhibition “Tai Chi, Calligraphy” in 2012. The opening reception will be held on October 14, 2017 at 3 p.m.

This exhibition will showcase Chu’s latest colored ink series of 2016 and 2017 using polyptychs. The multiple colored ink series is Chu’s connotation and perception of the depths of the mind and soul. The essence of his artwork is based on the intrinsic awareness, expression of sensibility, notion of life and death, and spiritual belief.

Chu’s perception of art is closely integrated with Taoism. He has acquired a deep understanding of the realm of Tao and Zen through the practice and meditation of Tai Chi Chuan, which gave rise to the creation of his new works - Without Appearances And Boundary. The work style is the coalition of ancient Laozhuang’s philosophy and Chu’s interpretation and presentation of modern vernacular lifestyle. Chu pays no regards to any art forms; he merely focuses on developing the mind freely. Such aesthetic value simply cannot be overlaid by Western Modern Art.
