IX. Event Categories and Scale

(1) The event includes three race categories with a total quota of 800 participants:

  1. FUNHILL 42
  2. FUNHILL 21

  3. FUNHILL 10

(2) Business School Invitational Tournament

A sub-event based on the three categories above. For details, refer to the Competition Regulations for the Business School Invitational Tournament of the 1st Beijing Fangshan 100 Trail Running Race.

FUNHILL 42

  • Start: Bairui Valley Tourist Service Center

  • Finish: Baihua Mountain Gate

  • Distance: about 38 km

  • Elevation Gain: about 2,800 m

  • ITRA Points: 2

  • UTMB Index: 50K

  • Route: Bairui Valley Tourist Service Center (Start) → Bairui Valley Sky Lake → Main Peak of Baihua Mountain → Baihua Mountain Sunrise Viewing Area → Baihua Mountain Stone Forest Trail → Camel Peak → Birch Forest → Qiulinpu → Shijiaying Hiking Trail → Zaoyuan → Lotus Mountain Villa → Baihua Mountain Gate (Finish).

  • Start: Bairui Valley Tourist Service Center

  • Finish: Baihua Mountain Gate

  • Distance: about 20km

  • Elevation Gain: about 1,600m

  • ITRA Points: 1

  • UTMB Index: 20K

  • Route: Bairui Valley Tourist Service Center (Start) → Bairui Valley Sky Lake → Main Peak of Baihua Mountain → Lotus Mountain Villa → Baihua Mountain Gate (Finish).

FUNHILL 10

  • Start/Finish: Bairui Valley Tourist Service Center

  • Distance: about 7.5 km

  • Elevation Gain: about 800 m

  • Route: Bairui Valley Tourist Service Center (Start) → Bairui Valley Sky Lake → Floating Cloud Bridge → Glass Walkway → Jurassic World → Bairui Valley Sky Lake (Finish).

XI. Registration

(1) Registration Period

Registration opens immediately and closes on May 10, 2025, or when the quota is filled.

  • Register via the official WeChat account "Jiuxvtiyu" or other authorized platforms.

  • Elite runners, invited runners, sponsors, or partners may register through VIP channels.

  • Business School Invitational Tournament participants must register via exclusive channels provided by the organizing committee.

(3) Registration Fees

*Parent-Child category: 1 adult + 1 child (ages 6–14).

Notes:

  • Early Bird pricing applies to registrations completed by April 30, 2025.

  • Team discounts require ≥10 participants (≥5 teams for Parent-Child category).


(4) Eligibility Requirement

1.Age Limits:

  • FUNHILL 42/21: 18–65 years old.

  • FUNHILL 10: 6–65 years old. Participants under 18 require guardian consent; those under 14 must be accompanied by a guardian.

2.Experience Requirements:

  • FUNHILL 42: Must have completed one ITRA-certified races (≥2 ITRA points) or a marathon within the past two years.

  • FUNHILL 21: Must have completed one ITRA-certified races (≥1 ITRA points) or a half marathon within the past two years.

  • FUNHILL 10: Participants must possess adequate training and experience.

3.Health Requirements:

  • Prohibited for individuals with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, pregnancy, infectious diseases, or other conditions unsuitable for strenuous exercise.

  • All participants must undergo a medical examination (including ECG, blood pressure, etc.) and self-assess their fitness.


4.Elite Runners:

  • Men: ITRA Performance Index ≥700 (as of May 1, 2025).

  • Women: ITRA Performance Index ≥600 (as of May 1, 2025).

  • Champions of the Shenzhen Dapeng 100 Coastal Trail Race (30K+) may register for free.

XII. Competition Rules

The competition rules for this event shall follow the China Mountaineering Association Trail Running Competition Rules.

(1) Start Procedure
All categories will start with a single gunshot. Participants must start from the designated starting point at the specified time; otherwise, their results will be invalid. Elite and invited athletes will use dedicated check-in channels and start at the front of their respective categories.

1. FUNHILL 42 :

  • Assemble in the designated starting area by 06:15 on May 25, 2025.

  • The race starts at 06:30.

2. FUNHILL 21 FUNHILL 10:

  • Assemble in the designated starting area by 09:15 on May 25, 2025.

  • The race starts at 09:30.

Note: Participants who arrive more than 15 minutes after the official start time will be deemed to have voluntarily withdrawn and will not be included in the rankings.

(2) Cut-off Times
The organizing committee will set cut-off times at checkpoints along the route. Participants must pass each checkpoint before its designated cut-off time. Those who fail to do so will be considered withdrawn.

Participants who continue racing after exceeding a checkpoint’s cut-off time without following staff instructions will have their results invalidated and assume full responsibility for any safety risks.

Overall cut-off times:

  1. FUNHILL 42: 12 hours (finish by 18:30 on May 25).

  2. FUNHILL 21: 7.5 hours (finish by 17:00 on May 25).

  3. FUNHILL 10: 4.5 hours (finish by 14:00 on May 25).

Participants who exceed the overall cut-off time will be marked as "DNF" and receive an electronic DNF certificate without a finisher’s medal.

(3) Bib Numbers & Timing Chips

  1. Bib numbers and timing chips will be assigned, produced, and distributed by the organizing committee. Forgery is strictly prohibited.

  2. Bibs must be visibly worn on the outermost layer of clothing. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

  3. Bibs serve as the sole credential for accessing the start/finish areas, checkpoints, aid stations, gear storage, and other services.

(4) Valid Results

  1. Timing is chip-based. Participants must wear chips correctly and follow start procedures.

  2. Timing points are set at the start, checkpoints, and finish. Missing any checkpoint timing will invalidate results.

  3. Participants missing timing records due to technical issues may apply for result adjustments within 1 hour finished-race by submitting GPS tracklogs or checkpoint photos.

(5) Race Bag Collection

  1. FUNHILL 42/21: Race bags must be collected two days prior to the race; no collection on race day.

  2. FUNHILL 10: Race bags can be collected one day prior or on race day (strongly advised to collect early).

(6) Baggage Storage

  1. Participants may store one bag at the start area.

  2. The committee does not inspect stored items. Participants assume full responsibility for lost or damaged valuables.

  3. Prohibited items (flammable, explosive, corrosive) are banned. Violators will bear legal and financial consequences.

  4. Use only the official storage bags provided by the committee.

  5. Unclaimed bags after the race will be mailed via SF Express (collect on delivery) within three days. Afterward, items will be discarded.

(7) Checkpoints

  1. Checkpoints provide timing, aid, medical support, and withdrawal services. Access to aid requires a visible bib.

  2. Third-party photographers must obtain permits from the committee and avoid restricted zones. Participants assume liability for photographers’ accidents.

  3. Support from sponsors or family is allowed only at designated checkpoints. Mandatory gear must be carried by participants all over the race.

(8) Course Markings
The course will be marked with signage, ribbons, arrows, and reflective materials. Participants who lose markings for over 200 meters must verify their route using pre-downloaded GPS tracks or contact the committee. Course adjustments may occur for safety reasons.

(9) Mandatory Gear
Participants must carry all required gear listed by the committee. Random checks will be conducted. Missing gear may result in penalties or disqualification.

Recommended Gear: Trail shoes, hydration packs, trekking poles (if used), sun protection (hat, sleeves, sunglasses), waterproof bags, etc.

(10) Withdrawal During the Race

  1. Participants must withdraw at the nearest checkpoint unless severely injured (e.g., fractures).

  2. Withdrawing participants must follow staff instructions for transportation to the finish area.

  3. Participants leaving the course without formal withdrawal must notify the committee via the phone number on their bib. Failure to do so may result in search operations at the participant’s expense.

Mandatory Withdrawal Conditions:

  • Medical staff determine the participant is unfit to continue.

  • Arriving more than 15 minutes late to the start.

  • Exceeding checkpoint cut-off times.

  • Missing mandatory gear during checks.

  • Other safety risks identified by organizing committee staff.

(11) Violations & Penalties

Violations will result in penalties such as time deductions, disqualification, bans, or public disclosure. Violations include:

1. Transferring or using forged bibs.

2. Carrying multiple timing chips.

3. Unauthorized start zones or route deviations.

4. Obstructing bib visibility.

5. Using vehicles or animals during the race.

6. Littering, damaging facilities, or disruptive behavior.

7. Refusing staff instructions or harassing personnel.

8. Missing mandatory gear.

9. Disabling communication devices (e.g., turning off phones).

10. Displaying political/religious propaganda.




XIII. Rankings & Awards

(1) Rankings

1. Rankings are based on gun time. Ties are resolved by system records.

2. Age Group Rankings (FUNHILL 42/21):

o Categories: ≤20, 21–29, 30–39, 40–49, ≥50 (age calculated as of April 1, 2025).

o Age group ranking will be displayed on the electronic completion certificate.


(2) Prizes

1. FUNHILL 42 (Top 10):

  • 1st: ¥2,000 | 2nd: ¥1,500 | 3rd: ¥800 | 4th: ¥600 | 5th: ¥400 | 6th–10th: ¥200 (pre-tax).

  • Trophies for top 5.

  • Prize above for top 3 if <50 participants.

2. FUNHILL 21 (Top 10):

  • 1st: ¥1,000 | 2nd: ¥800 | 3rd: ¥600 | 4th: ¥400 | 5th: ¥200 | 6th–10th: ¥100 (pre-tax).

  • Trophies for top 5.

  • Prize above for top 3 if <50 participants.

3. FUNHILL 10: 

Trophies for top 3 runners of Prsonal Groupand top 3 teams of Parent-Child Group.

(3) Finisher Rewards

All finishers receive commemorative medals and electronic certificates.

XIV. Medical & Rescue

(1) Medical Support

  1. Medical stations are located at the start, finish, and checkpoints.

  2. Medical staff may mandate rest or withdrawal for safety.

  3. Unconscious participants authorize the committee to administer emergency care (e.g., CPR, AED). Costs and liabilities are borne by the participant.

(2) Mountain Rescue

  1. Certified rescue teams will patrol high-risk areas.

  2. Minor injuries receive on-site treatment; severe cases (e.g., fractures) are evacuated to hospitals at the participant’s expense.


XV. Event Changes or Cancellation

The committee reserves the right to alter the course, delay, postpone, or cancel the event due to extreme weather, policy changes, or force majeure.

  • Cancellation >7 days pre-race: Partial refunds (minus incurred costs).

  • Cancellation ≤7 days pre-race: No refunds.


XVI. Public Welfare

The event promotes sustainability and partners with local NGOs to advance harmony between humans and nature.

XVII. Insurance

  1. Basic insurance is provided. Incorrect registration details void coverage.

  2. Participants are urged to purchase additional commercial insurance.


XVIII. Appeals

Appeals against results or penalties must be submitted in writing with evidence within 1 hour of results publication.


XIX. Dispute Committee

The committee comprises technical delegates, chief referees, and project referees.


XX. Anti-Doping

Participants must adhere to anti-doping regulations set by the State Sport General Administration and the China Mountaineering Association.
