天高气爽，秋色怡人，10月12日下午，常外附属双语学校高中部举行了本学期首次学生大会。
On October 12th, CBS high school held the first student conference for this semester in the afternoon.
大会上，首先由G12的顾尹茜同学和G11B班的李方睿同学做了一个简单的假期活动分享。暑假中，顾尹茜同学参加了剑藤组织的为期三天的培训活动。这个活动旨在指引学生如何根据学科优势选择自己感兴趣的专业领域，并帮助学生扩充专业知识，教授一些在大学面试中的技巧等。李方睿同学参加了剑桥大学暑期夏校，在学习的同时结交到许多来自世界各地的朋友。通过这两个活动，两位同学都感慨道，自己所遇到的每一个人，除了有着很棒的学科优势外，他们都充满自信，充满对学习的热情与积极钻研的态度。所以他们也希望同学们，能够在假期期间多参与活动，扩充自己的视野，增长自己的知识。去见识，去体会，在常州之外，江苏之外，许多更优秀的人是如何养成的。
In the conference, Lily Gu from Grade 12 and Edison Li from Grade 11 shared their experience during the summer vacation. Lily attended a training course which lasted for three days. This training course was aimed to help students choose their major in the future. It also taught students necessary skills for university/college entrance interviews. Edison participated in the summer camp organized by Cambridge University, from which he made many friends from all over the world. Through those activities, both students firmly believe they gained a lot, not only the enthusiasm for study, but also the confidence for their future life. They suggest that students should actively seek these types of training courses in their vacations.
接着，高中部于校长总结并肯定了开学两个多月以来高中部同学们的整体表现。高三年级的同学整体有着积极向上的学习态度以及勤奋钻研的学习精神，希望他们吸取前辈们的经验，继续保持这样的学习状态，在学科以及雅思学习上持之以恒。高二年级的同学们稳步前进，大部分同学也大有进步之势，希望高二年级的同学们再接再厉，在这非同寻常的“决战之年”拼尽全力，以自己最好的姿态与准备迎接明年的官考。高一年级的同学们尚且处于适应期，但也希望同学们能够学会合理安排时间，利用碎片的时间进行学习、提高，尽快适应高中生活。接着，于校长向同学们抛出了一个问题：我们为什么要上高中？于校长说道，同学们在高中生活中，除了学习知识，还要利用各种机会锻炼自己的能力，培养能陪伴自己一生的兴趣爱好和长久的知心友谊。希望同学们能在高中这段经历中，不断提升自己。
Principal of High School Mr Mark Yu also addressed all the students in the conference. Firstly, he praised students for their performance during the first two months of the 2018-19 academic school year. He then gave his hopes for students in different grades. For Grade 12 students, he encouraged the continuance of their positive attitudes towards study and was able to reflect on past students performances and where they are now. For Grade 11 students, they should spare no efforts to learn all the courses and make full preparations for CAIE examinations next year. For Grade 10 students, his suggested focus was on their transition to study expectations in high school and time management with the increased work load and at times independent study routines.
最后，于校长向所有同学提出了希望：希望同学们能够合理规划，弥补漏洞，收敛一点懒散的心思，发散一点学习的气息，迎接11月初高中部的期中考试，以及高一同学们十月底的IG数学官考，向着自己目标与梦想前进！
Finally the principal gave all students sitting for external examinations encouragement for these exams, and that with preparedness these exams can open doors to future academic opportunities abroad.
