“阳光动力2号”太阳能飞机，是全球最大的太阳能飞机，飞行所需能量完全由太阳能电池提供，是唯一一架长航时、不必耗费一滴燃油便可昼夜连续飞行的太阳能飞机。它于2015年3月31日凌晨抵达中国西南部大都市—重庆，“阳光动力2号”在中国的旅程由此正式开始。
这架瑞士制造的飞机其重量只有约2300公斤，与一辆家用汽车相当，飞行速度达到100千米/小时，其翼展达到72米由1.7万多块高效能的太阳能电池板组成，实现了零排放。

出生在瑞士的丹尼.鲁塞尔先生，是重庆凯宾斯基酒店总经理，他说，“非常有幸能够邀请到“阳光动力2号”飞行员贝特朗·皮卡尔和安德烈·波许博格先生以及他们的团队，希望这个独具瑞士风情的晚会和地道的巴伐利亚美食能够让他们记起家乡的味道。”
Solar Impulse 2, the only airplane of perpetual endurance, able to fly day and night on solar power, without adrop of fuelarrived in China's southwestern metropolis of Chongqing early morning on March 31, 2015, to kickoff the official journey in China.
The Swiss-made plane weighs 2,300 kg, roughly the weight of a car, and travels at more than 100 km per hour. It's powered by 17,248 solar panels installed on both sides of the wings and has zero emissions.
