Xishan Island is the only place on earth where they grow!
- Only 10,000 tons are produced a year;
- It can only be collected for 20 days a year;

Loquats have been grown in Xishan since the Tang Dynasty, and during the Ming Dynasty, the loquats from the Dongting Mountain became world-famous.
西山枇杷种植始于唐代，自明代洞庭山的枇杷已是名闻天下。

Under the guidance and instructions from a local guide, you will experience loquat picking first hand — with a safety belt, of course! You will learn which loquats are ripe and best to pick.
05. Make Your Own Local Loquat Dessert

Once we're back from the hike, we will experience making our own loquat desserts using the traditional canning process.

Get on the bus and head back to Shanghai.
