The Han Dynasty was the first prosperous feudal dynasty in China, divided into the Western Han and Eastern Han periods, spanning over four centuries. It was a time of strong national power and flourishing culture, with a profound impact on the development of Chinese civilization. Hebei, located in the Huaxia Plain, has a long history and a brilliant civilization. Dozens of vassal states, including the Yan, Zhao, and Zhongshan states, were once enfeoffed here, leaving behind rich historical and cultural heritage. Among them, the discovery of the tombs of the princes of the Zhongshan State is particularly abundant.

The "Eternal Dream: Exhibition of Han Dynasty Royal Artifacts in Hebei" is jointly organized by the Jilin Provincial Museum and the Hebei Museum. The exhibition is held at the D Hall on the fourth floor of the Jilin Provincial Museum and will run from May 16th to August 14th, 2023. The exhibition showcases a total of over 280 artifacts, including bronzeware, gold and silverware, jade objects, and pottery, with exquisite patterns and exquisite craftsmanship. Highlights of the exhibition include the replica of the Changxin Palace Lantern, Liu Yan's gold-plated copper-threaded jade robe, the gilded and silvered bronze pot with seal script bird motifs, the Bo Mountain incense burner with mounted figures, and the translucent carved double-dragon white jade bi.

The exhibition is divided into two parts: "Royal Majesty" and "Changle and Weiyang," introducing the history of the Zhongshan State's enfeoffment during the Western and Eastern Han periods. Through the exquisite artifacts unearthed from the Zhongshan royal tombs, it vividly depicts the daily life of the Han Dynasty royal family, showcasing aspects such as interior furnishings, banquets, medical care, and travel, painting a lively picture of the luxurious daily life of Han Dynasty nobility.

Additionally, a large number of exquisite jade artifacts and painted pottery are displayed, revealing the Han Dynasty nobility's imagination of the afterlife and interpreting the burial beliefs of "treating death as important as life."
