Johnson JiaThis design brought benefits as well as constraints for customers at the same time. I agree with you that there is using experience challenge for some customers especially who adapt the traditional click buttons. We will improve in our new generation products and meanwhile we will put stricter customer simulation test for new products to prevent this kind of problem in the future.

Johnson JiaThis is a good question! In fact we already started to leverage Mobil Internet. This week, we just announced PC GO Wechat platform and we will leverage this platform to learn about our customers more quickly, more directly, then we can be more proactive to serve our customers! We start sth. Small but that will bring big change step by step!

3. Johnson, since new 2014 fiscal year, quality team join in global operation organization, what’s your requirement and expectation for quality team in balancing quality business and order fulfillment business? Thank you Sir.

Johnson JiaQuality is the most critical factor for one company to sustain the growth as this is foundation to continue to satisfy the customers. We have built this valuable asset through last 2 decades and we should protect. In the New Year under PC GO, I expect Quality team to be bolder and more creative to manage on quality. Specifically: 1)How to fine tune the Quality Definition in Customer Age, 2)Influence all of functions and employees in our company to take their own responsibility, 3)Get the Quality Management System whole picture, lay out strategy and drive to implement. I am very confident that our Quality team will get on higher stage and our quality will be better and better!

4. 请问在驱动组织从以产品为出发点到以客户为出发点的组织转型方面,今年您有何重要举措?

Johnson JiaWe start from our daily work. 1) We kicked off our Wechat platform to learn about our customers. 2)We will set up Customer Champion in our team and build virtual team to provide e/e solution for customers, we will start from Global account and Web customers.3)I encourage everyone to think about how your daily work can contribute to quality improvement and reflect our customer centric mindset.

Johnson JiaQuality Management is so important to our business and we can fail here. Besides we push quality improvement with Customer Centric mindset, I think we could be more creative to improve on the followings: 1) Collaborate with BU team to improve Product Development Quality especially for Halo product, 2)Drive Manufacturing quality improvement to prevent any defected products leakage from our factories and ODM factories; 3)Parts and Component quality management BMS kick off; 4)Collaborate with Service team to improve on Criticism management.

6. 质量和成本,平衡点在哪里?

Johnson JiaIn fact, there is theory about Quality Cost what people can calculate the quality cost. We can study if this can work for us. But at the end, we should link both cost and quality to Customer Experience.

7. Hi Johnson, What are your expectations from PC quality team to improve our products quality with minimum cost adding?

Johnson JiaAs I mentioned in other questions, if the cost adder can help on customer experience improvement, we should implement. The key is how we measure. I learned that we are running Beta test by inviting our real users in, I think this is very good way for us to make tradeoff between quality and cost adder.

8. Hi Johnson,企业经常会提到要提高产品质量,但是并没有一个具体的可以衡量产品质量的标准。对此,您或您的团队是如何对高产品质量进行定义的?

Johnson JiaWe have traditional KPI set to measure our quality improvement. This includes DOA and RMA etc. In the new world, most of company will measure by Customer Experience Index and our quality team is also leading on this topic now. Short term, we will add TTQ and ERA for Halo Products as 2 new KPIs; for long term, we will study what's the right KPI for us.

9. Who is our closest competitor in quality and design? How do you compare ours with Apple or Samsung?

Johnson JiaWe aim at Apple and Samsung. Compare to them, we are more confident from Hardware perspective and we are able to continue to improve. We have a lot to do from S/W and Experience perspective what we will focus on in next step.

10. Hi, Johnson, what is the objective we want to achieve through quality month? What is your expectation for team?

Johnson JiaBesides the successful events in the quality month, I expect all of functions and Employees in our company are proud of our Achievements on quality, understand the corresponding responsibility on shoulders. Get alignment that we should commit to quality as one team together!

11. Hi Johnson, Quality is reputation, especially in current internet social time, our customers can use different channel, like tweeter/wechat to share Lenovo product experience and product quality to the world. Understand we have many process and control in placed to avoid quality issue happen to our customers. If there is a quality issue happens, what are the actions Lenovo will take to minimize this kind of impact from social network? Thank you!

Johnson JiaStrategically, we should be more open to customers and provide the solution to fix issues for customer in time. Tactically, we have PR (Public Relationship) team handle this type of crisis management.

12. No doubt maintaining and strengthening our quality is critical. What is your thoughts sir, on balancing that, the need for innovation, and the pressures on lowering procurement cost to remain competitive?

Johnson JiaThe fundamental approach is to deeply understand the requirement of customers. We should provide Western Food for Foreigners and Chinese food for Chinese, if we swap, we will get in the trouble.

13. Quality is important factor to user experiences, usually good quality is based on good parts with higher cost, is it more challenge to supply chain? How to face such challenge?

Johnson JiaTraditional way, good parts mean higher cost. We are innovative and there is always way we can find to get the right cost solution to meet customer's requirement. We should work as one team by leveraging expertise from all of functions to make this happen.

14. 老贾你好,经过PCGO Team的通力合作,LCFC的订单处理、组装、测试、维修、物流等效率得到了大大的提高,请问您对LCFC的未来有什么期望?

Johnson JiaCongratulate to LCFC team for the significant progress made since this new fiscal year! LCFC is one of core competencies for Lenovo to sustain our PC champion in WW market. In-house development and manufacturing is the critical part for our hybrid operation model for long term business development. It fits PC as well as other product businesses. The experience we accumulate in LCFC will be valuable to replicate to other areas.

15. Johnson您好,大家都在强调互联网思维,对于互联网思维下您怎么看待企业核心技术,企业拥有核心技术与现在鼓励大家创新,申请申请专利,是否有一致性?

Johnson JiaWe always value the core technologies. It is consistent between core technology study and Innovation/Patent Application.

16. LCFC率先部署了联想私有云解决方案,据说可以大大提升企业的运营效率。请问您对这套解决方案的看法如何?否有计划在所有的工厂中推行?

Johnson JiaIT/Cloud solution definitely helps us on LCFC operation performance improvement. I will ask LCFC IT expert share with team and we can plan together how to leverage this for more factories once it is mature enough.

17. 老贾您好, 质量月的活动让大家更深入的思考如何从客户角度考量我们的产品质量,请问您个人对于产品质量如何考量有想法呢?什么是您认为合格的产品质量和考核标准呢?谢谢。

Johnson JiaIn the past, we always measure our quality from Product perspective such as DOA, RA etc. This is the traditional way to say quality. In the new era, Customer Satisfaction is the only standard to bench our quality. There is one Book from Bain Company I want to recommend to team. The book name is "The ultimate question 2.0". You can find the answer how important the customer satisfaction is.

18. Hi Johnson, as we know our PC product portfolio is very rich, which creates challenge in product quality control, due to more complexity and less commonality. Can I please seek your guidance what's our strategy in the Quality control in a complex product portfolio environment.

Johnson JiaI view Dealing with Complexity is one of our competencies and this helps us to address the different requirements from customers all over the world. What we can do is be more creative to manage this efficiently meanwhile to collaborate with BU colleagues to remove some complexity what customers can't perceive the value.
