From China to Ghana
M&M Qingdao. Some shipments require a long transit time, while others need extensive preparation time. However, a recent project at the Qingdao branch has achieved a balance between the two.
"From the production of the buses to the start of transportation took only 13 days, and we managed to catch the nearest bulk cargo ship," said Leo, the sales manager responsible for this project.
The order came from Ghana, and the transported goods were bulky. They included buses for local commuting and semi-trailer tractors for manganese mining, with a total volume of nearly 5000 cubic meters. M&M China organized the entire transportation process, including obtaining permits for vehicle delivery and temporary licenses, as well as coordinating personnel for loading and handling unexpected extreme weather conditions.
Despite thorough preparation, the unpredictable weather still posed a challenge during transportation. Encountering the typhoons Dusuri and Kano led to delays in the shipping schedule, resulting in unavoidable costs due to cargo storage. Therefore, optimizing the implementation plan to reduce uncontrollable cost increases became the top priority for the Qingdao team.
"Due to the typhoon's impact, the factory's shipment and the ship's arrival at the port were not perfectly aligned. Through proactive communication with the bulk cargo ship owner and the customer, we managed to minimize storage costs at the port. We also further optimized the loading and reinforcement plan for the semi-trailer tractors, using a stacking solution with two semi-trailers, once again saving costs for the customer," Leo added.

“从大巴车的生产到开始运输仅用时13天，我们赶上了最近的散货船。”负责本次项目的销售经理Leo说到。
订单来自于加纳，运输的货物是个大家伙，它们分别是将用于当地通勤的大巴车和锰矿开采的半挂牵引车，整个体量近5000个方。M&M中国组织了整个运输过程，还包括了车辆出厂的许可和临时牌证的办理，以及装载现场的人员的调配和应对极端天气的变故。
运输过程，即便做了充足的准备，但是多变的天气依旧无法预测。在遇到台风杜苏芮和卡努的情况下，船期的延误引起的货物滞留不可避免，那么如何优化实施方案从而减少不可控成本的增加成为青岛同事的首要任务。
“因为台风的原因，工厂发货和船舶靠港不能完美匹配，在我们与散货船船东和客户双向的积极沟通下，减少了货物在港的堆存费用。我们还为半挂牵引车的配载和加固方案做了进一步优化，使用两台半挂车叠放的方案，又一次为客户节省了费用”， Leo补充到。
