M&M China recently successfully completed a major project: transporting dozens of wide-body mining trucks from Kashgar through the Irkeshtam Pass, Osh City, and the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan border, finally delivering them to Uzbekistan. This project faced many challenges due to the size and weight of the wide-body mining trucks, but thanks to the outstanding execution and teamwork of the Urumqi team, all difficulties were overcome one by one.
Challenges of the Transportation Environment
The complex transportation environment was the main difficulty of this project. Traditional flatbed truck transportation methods faced many challenges on foreign roads, especially on narrow mountain roads. The narrow mountain road sections, combined with the trucks' excessive width and height, posed a risk of collision with the mountainside, which could not only damage the trucks' appearance but also bring uncontrollable transportation risks and additional costs.
Formulating Solutions
To address these foreseeable issues, the Urumqi team conducted multiple communications with the client to understand the technical parameters and performance of the trucks in detail. They also conducted on-site inspections of bridges and tunnels along the route. After multiple discussions, it was finally decided to use a self-driving method for the trucks for export transportation. This approach not only avoided the limitations of traditional transportation methods but also ensured the safety and efficiency of the transportation process.
