An unexpected outcome of Covid-19 has been innovating alternative solutions in order to keep the supply chain moving. Case in point: the first ever road freight from Shenzhen, China to Bremen, Germany carried out by Rhenus.
此次运输的货物是金属探测器。由于当地有关危险物品的运输规定，铁路运输已不可行。因此，雷诺斯为客户提供了公路运输的方案，其优点在于运输时效比海运快，同时成本比空运便宜两倍。
The cargo in question was metal detectors. Due to local regulations regarding Dangerous Goods, rail freight wasn’t an option. As such, Rhenus offered the road solution to customer, being much faster the ocean freight and two times cheaper than air.
雷诺斯深圳团队作为此次项目的掌舵者，在前期进行了路线规划的深入研究，相关手续的办理以及确认整个运输路程的绝对安全。一系列尽职尽责的调查确保了货物在仅仅17天内完好无损地抵达了目的地。
Being an inaugural undertaking, the Shenzhen team had to do thorough research, proper paperwork and maintain impeccable security en-route. This due diligence ensured that the cargo reached destination safely in just 17 days.
目前，深圳团队正在执行同一客户的第二批运输，并希望将其发展成为中国和欧洲之间的定期公路运输产品。
Currently the team is handling the second batch from the same customer and is looking to developing this into a regular product between China and Europe.
