Florentijn Hofman, the man who created the giant Rubber Duck, has his latest creation - a 21 meter-long humongous (巨大的) hippo bobbing along the Thames, foreign media reported. Named HippopoThames, the wooden sculpture of a friendly-looking hippo arrived at London Tuesday. Hofman said that the purpose of his sculptures are to give members of the public a break from their daily routines and to explore London with a new perspective. HippopoThames will be on display until Sept 28.
据外媒报道，"大黄鸭之父"霍夫曼近日推出新作——漂流在泰晤士河上的一个21米长的巨型河马。这只看起来萌萌哒的木制雕塑名叫"河马泰晤士"，于2日抵达伦敦。霍夫曼称，创作这些雕塑的目的是希望人们能在日常作息中得到放松，用全新的视角探索伦敦。据悉，"河马泰晤士"将畅游至9月28日。
The latest creation of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, a huge white rabbit, met the public on Thursday during the Taoyuan Land Arts Festival in Taiwan, Taiwan media reported. The rabbit named "Moon rabbit" resembles the real-life rabbit from Alice's Wonderland, surrounded by blue sky and grassland. At about 25 meters long, the rabbit is made of waterproof paper, wood and styrofoam. It can withstand both sunshine and rain, but may fall victim to typhoons, the report stated. Hofman's creation, one among many giant animals he's created such as the Rubber Duck, aims to arouse happiness and draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese legend of Chang'e and Jade Rabbit.
据台湾媒体报道，"大黄鸭"之父、荷兰艺术家霍夫曼打造的又一新作——大白兔，4日亮相台湾桃园地景艺术节。这只白兔名叫"月兔"，在蓝天绿草的衬托下犹如一只来自爱丽丝仙境的真实版兔子。据报道，"月兔"长约25米，是由防水纸、木头以及泡沫塑料做成的，不怕日晒雨淋，不过台风是它的天敌。霍夫曼的作品一贯将小动物"极大化"，意在给观赏者创造出幸福感，此次"月兔"是从中国嫦娥与玉兔的传说中汲取了灵感。
