Krupikova Oksana is the founder of the Bodylab Dance Center which was founded in Shanghai in 2016. Her family in Russia has a close connection with China as her grandfather was a member of the Communist Party.
Speaking in fluent Chinese, Oksana said her grandfather often shared with her stories about China and his admiration for the country when she was a child.
During the visit to the memorial hall, she took some videos and photos that she said she would send to her grandfather.

“The exhibition allows foreigners to better understand how and when the Communist Party of China was first founded, as well as the history and the amazing development in China. I hope the Party continues to develop and reform China. I hope people’s lives continue to become better and better, which I’m sure will happen. Happy anniversary!”
Astrid Poghosyan is a violinist and the first foreign management employee in the history of the prestigious Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. She came to Shanghai when she was 16 years old and fell in love with the Bund and the city. The Armenian believes that foreigners living in China have a role to play in sharing a truthful account of the country. In fact, she has been regularly doing so on her own accord.

Simon Lichtenberg, the CEO of furniture company Trayton Group, is from Denmark. Influenced by his family and the desire to broaden his horizons, he traveled to Fudan University in Shanghai to learn the Chinese language in 1987. He still vividly recalls the scenes of the city from that period – few cars, countless bicycles, and cramped living conditions.
Contrasting those scenes from the past with today’s modern and cosmopolitan megapolis, the Dane attributed this transformation to the CPC’s efficient and effective management of the country.
The expatriates were impressed by the tour, with some of them praising the use of multimedia content and high-tech devices such as holographic projections and 3D displays to enhance the viewing experience.

“I visited the site more than 10 years ago. Today, I founded it very different. It is a most beautiful and comprehensive exhibition of the Party’s revolutionary history in China,” he said. “I think the Party's past hundred years of development is unique. It has not only changed the lives of the Chinese but also those from around the world.”

“One of the most interesting things for me is a projection, which projected the speeches of the founders on the table. All of their hopes and wishes a hundred years ago have come true today. In my eyes, the Communist Party of China are a group of idealists who care nothing but the people.”
“Before coming to this visit, I asked myself this question: How has the Party lasted a hundred years and how would it move forward beyond the hundred years? I think I found the answer to my question. I was impressed by the original aspirations of these young people in the beginning who decided to say, ‘No, this is not the way we see China in the future, and we would like to change it.’”
“They were bold, motivated, and they took the risk at that moment… I was also impressed by the mission those young people had, which is the willingness of the people for a better life. Last but not least, the capacity of the Party to adapt itself to a new situation, while always maintaining its original aspiration — is the true DNA of the Party. I think those are the things that led the Party to success for a hundred years.”

“As foreigners, we witnessed the development of China. We were amazed by how China has evolved in the past decades. But we know very little about what’s truly beyond a hundred years. I was emotionally involved in today’s exhibition as I saw how much efforts and even sufferings people in the past had to endure to make China grow.”
“China is developing incredibly, and it did not come by chance. It’s because somebody took the right decisions, and somebody acted upon those decisions correctly…You have incredible leadership and you have been attaining incredible results. Keep it up!”
