Tabu participated in Design Shanghai 2020 from Nov 26th -29th 2020.They displayed the new collection named "Rethinking the future" – to discuss three modern life ideas that closely related to us from thinking the lifestyle in the future：

ReThinking the Future – Anthology One Collection is faithful to our innate vocation of avant-garde and mirror of the present: it is hinged to our paradigm of Innovation of the product and Circularity, understood as efficiency not only in the energetic choices, but also in the use or rational and appropriate reuse of all resources during all phases of the production cycle.

Rethinking the Future – Anthology One Collection by TABU is outstanding for its “polyphonic” soul. Simultaneously the newly rediscovered natural dyed veneers enhanced in their biodiversity, the latest-generation multilaminar wood veneers, created by an increasing optimal use of the noble raw material, the industrial inlays (Graffiti Collection) and the wood surfaces destined to Skeens Tabu Boiserie find their peculiarity in the powerful “musical score”.

Industrial inlay enhancing the biodiversity through the excellent reuse of noble wood species
(up to 15 different species such as Lati, Walnut, Tanganika, Figured Maple, Sucupira, Ash, Eucalyptus, Larch, Perpero, Bolivar, Oak, Pine, Mahogany, Erable), freely matched in sharpened horizontal strips, creating a new effect being never the same.
工业镶嵌物通过对珍贵木材的优良再利用提高生物多样性

Tondo Tondo, inlay winner of the Contest IDEASxWOOD
TONDO TONDO (design by Nicola da Dalto) is an industrial inlay in natural dyed veneer Walnut by TABU, whose project was the winner in the Students category of the Contest IDEASxWOOD by TABU: “For the simple and refined modular composition of squares and circles enhanced with contrasting nuances of the same essence to obtain a three-dimensional surface effect” says the Statement of the Jury.
ONDO TONDO（由Nicola da Dalto设计）是TABU在天然染色单板胡桃木上的工业嵌体，在由TABU组织的IDEASxWOOD竞赛获奖学生项目的点评上，评委会表示：“为了获得三维的表面效果，通过简单而精致的方形和圆形的模块化组合，使相同本质的对比细微差别得到增强。”
The project draws inspiration from the iconic ceramics in white and blue created by Gio Ponti between 1960 and 1962 for the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, Naples. Squares and circles are recurrent elements in this design: those geometries playing with the wood veins have been maintained in order to obtain a contemporary, simple and at the same time elegant pattern.

Dùnamis, Ellissi, Stella Polare
Unparalleled and masterly inlays, born incollaboration with the Artist Mario Moriggi, famous inlayer, and created withmetal inlays. The inlay offers the possibility to paint with the materials. Theboiserie is as a large huge blankcanvas you must be able to paint. These inlays are created with rawmaterial to which a new life is given, reuse materials for which tones on tonesare preferred so that the inlay exalts the veins.

A geometric inlay in Larch, Oak and Eucalyptus, used in very refined tones enhancing the vein; a project based on an overlapping of planes and angles without the same inclination, where the metal three-pointed Pole Star is inserted scientifically. Open angles neither at 45 nor at 30 degree, but with their particular inclinations.

The multilaminar wood veneers 科技木
A funny and colourful striped multilaminar wood veneer that seems to recall the sugar surface of the stripped candies and even their fruity fragrance and their intense flavour. A hymn to cheerfulness and joy, carried out with an appropriate use of 20 natural dyed veneers already available and enhanced in this new light-heartedly “foolish” and astonishing decoration.

3 new codes for Skeens Tabu Boiserie
3 new decorations enrich the revolutionary collection presented at Salone 2019: SKEENS Tabu Boiserie embodies a new vision of the wood boiserie with a thickness that is almost zero, FSC® and A+ certified wood. Light pre-varnished wood sheets (natural dyed and multilaminar wood veneers), obtained with a special system that allows the customer to glue them directly on wall, doors, overlays and panels.

TABU wanted to choose only FSC® certified and sustainable wood species such as Bolivar, Eucalyptus, Ash, Larch, Walnut, Oak, Lime tree, wood species coming from Europe or North America.

TABU “Bolivar” wood originates on the east coast of the USA.

Imagining that the mysterious depth of a forest or the cosy nature of a garden can be evoked by an innovative thin sheet of flexible decorative wood. We are in a new dimension of the project. Bolivar Moss Green is freely inspired by the Saihoji, one of Kyoto's best-known gardens, commonly known as the “Moss temple”; pure certified and sustainable wood with delicate green veins offering us the possibility of designing environments conveying a sense of naturalness and serenity typical of Zen gardens.
