2026 March SAT Analysis

by NALAPREP

The March 2026 SAT included many repeat questions, but it also included new questions that were simple and manageable if students knew the right strategies. Students who depended only on repeats often struggled on those newer questions. The SAT is not only testing memory or pattern recognition anymore — it is rewarding students who can apply the right method even when the question looks unfamiliar.

The consensus about about March 2026 test from the NALA IBG SAT Team:

March 2026 SAT International was on the easier side. There were 2-3 tricky Reading questions, while the rest of the test was fairly straightforward. However, the Vocab continues to be tricky, with harder words reappearing such as counterfactual, perfunctory, and untenable.

2026 March SAT Vocab

Let's review the newly tested vocab words:

The CORE Vocab list continues to have you covered for Vocab, as all the harder words are covered by our comprehensive list: perfunctory (Unit 30), derivative (Unit 3), untenable (Unit 10), unequivocal (Unit 4), rigor (Unit 9), obscurity (Unit 7), cryptic (Unit 12)

Students who study the CORE Vocab list at IBG/nalaprep will be familiar with all these words!

Test repeats

We've researched every new Reading/Writing and Math questions from the international versions, comparing them to our Nalaprep SAT database, and from deep analysis we find 36% of Reading/Writing questions were repeated or similar to previous ones in our database, while most of the Math questions were repeats. There were total 130 new Reading/Writing questions that appeared, with 64 in Module 1 and 66 from Module 2 (Hard).

When we look at the Reading/Writing repeats on a specific test version that students saw, we find that this version A of 2026 March International test had over 56% repeats on Module 1 and 45% on Module 2.

That leads to the conclusion: NALA Predict Questions are strong as ever. Our students saw tons of predict questions, over half the test.

Version A: 56% and 45% repeats

Students who prepared thoroughly with our entire predict question database should be able to handle these with ease.

Math

Effy continues to predict the Math questions coming out on each test; we continue to have multiple 800s on Math. Please reach out to our Sales consultants for booking classes–we are doing 10hrs of 1-1 to score a 800. Students must learn how to do questions in advance and maximize their scores!

What Next?

At IBG, we prepare students not only for repeat questions, but also for new variations that require the same core strategies. Most of our students scored above 700 in Reading and Writing, and even at the Grade 10 level, a notable number of students scored above 1500. Repeat questions help, but strategy is what makes the difference. In Rebecca’s class, students not only build a strong command of the key grammar rules that repeatedly appear on the SAT, but also fully master 12 major Reading question types and the most effective strategy for each one.

We highly recommend NOT to miss May/June Tests. Students last year reported May and June tests had high number of Predicts. You must sign up for all scheduled sessions to not miss any Predict questions.
